"The April DCM and Banquet was held at Michael Faklis Park in Stockton on April 24th from 3-6PM. Members were required to wear a fask mask covering for the entirety of the event, as well bring forms and a $3.00 registration fee in order to attend and participate in the event. The required forms were a COVID-19 waiver form, as well as a medical release form, and the registration fee was required in order to supply enough Costco pizza to the attendees of the event! The event was open to key Club members who were either D27N grizzlies or D27S koi fish. The event, which was the very first DCM planned by the new lovely D27 LTGs Jamie Lynn Phan and Angelika Irada, was a very laid back way to truly signal the transition from the previous term and the previous term’s LTGs, Hailey Phan and Kirsten de Jesus, the latter of whom was unfortunately unable to attend the event. At the event, before getting into the DCM portion of the day, the members got to participate in super fun icebreakers! For the first icebreaker, members got to watch as a few of their peers from both divisions competed in a game of musical chairs. The second and final icebreaker entailed the participation of all of the attendees, and what ensued was a crazy game of Poncho, in which there were four fairly large groups, or “ponchos,” of key clubbers from both divisions who had to work together to coordinate an ample amount of simple dance moves in order to outdance the opposing ponchos. Once the icebreakers had wrapped up, the event transitioned into its scheduled division conference meeting session, in which both divisions’ individual clubs discussed what had happened the past month, as well as what they all expected or hoped to accomplish in the following months. After the DCM portion concluded, D27N’s LTG Hailey Phan gave out her own awards to remarkable individuals this past term, which included members, board officers, and club advisors. After this, she moved on to give out DCON awards that had not yet been received by the winners. To conclude the event, Hailey gave her LTG farewell speech. Through tears on her part as well as the audience, her speech provided an appropriate and wonderful way to bring her LTG term to a close."
